Privacy Policy
Annals of Infectious Diseases and Therapy and Somato Publications respect the privacy of everyone who uses the journal website and submission system. This statement explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights.
What we collect
- Account data — name, email address, affiliation, country, ORCID iD, and areas of expertise, when you register as an author, reviewer, or reader.
- Submission data — manuscripts, cover letters, declarations, and correspondence.
- Review data — reviewer reports and recommendations.
- Usage data — IP address, browser type, pages visited, and referring site, collected through server logs and privacy-respecting analytics.
- Payment data — invoicing details for Article Processing Charges. Card details are handled by the payment provider and are never stored by the journal.
Why we collect it
- To manage peer review, publication, and correspondence;
- To publish author names, affiliations, and ORCID iDs with articles;
- To register metadata with Crossref, DOAJ, and indexing services;
- To send you notifications you have opted into (new issues, review invitations);
- To invoice and record payments;
- To maintain the security and performance of the website;
- To comply with legal obligations and to investigate misconduct.
The legal bases are performance of a contract (publishing your work), legitimate interests (running a journal), consent (newsletters), and legal obligation.
Who we share it with
- Editors and reviewers, within the limits of double-blind review;
- Crossref, indexing services, and archiving services (published metadata only);
- Service providers who host the website, process payments, or run similarity checks, under contract and only for those purposes;
- Authorities where legally required.
We never sell personal data.
Cookies
The website uses strictly necessary cookies (session and login) and, where you consent, analytics cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser; some functions may then not work.
Retention
Account data is kept while the account is active and for three years after. Submission and review records are kept for ten years for integrity investigations. Published articles and their metadata are kept permanently. Rejected manuscripts are deleted from the live system after two years.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (including under the GDPR), you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your data, object to processing, or withdraw consent. Write to editor@somatopub.com. We respond within 30 days. Published author information forms part of the scholarly record and is corrected through the Corrections Policy rather than deleted.
Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on access-controlled servers with daily backups. Staff access is limited to what their role requires.
