Article Processing Charges
Annals of Infectious Diseases and Therapy does not charge readers or their institutions for access. To cover the costs of peer-review management, copy-editing, typesetting, hosting, DOI registration, indexing, and permanent archiving, the journal charges an Article Processing Charge to authors (or their institutions or funders) on acceptance only.

The same charge applies to every article type (Original Research, Review Article, Short Communication, Case Report / Case Series, Policy Analysis / Perspective, and Letter to the Editor). Editorials commissioned by the Editor-in-Chief are published free of charge.
Prices are exclusive of any tax that may apply. There are no submission charges, page charges, colour figure charges, or charges for supplementary material. Optional professional language editing is available for an additional USD 179 per manuscript, regardless of article type; it is never a condition of acceptance.
When and how to pay
An invoice is issued to the corresponding author after the editorial decision to accept. Payment is due within 30 days by bank transfer or card. Production begins on receipt of payment or an approved waiver. Payment does not guarantee, and non-payment does not affect, any future editorial decision.
Waivers and discounts
The journal's mission is to publish good research regardless of the authors' ability to pay.
- Full waiver — corresponding authors based in countries classified by the World Bank as low-income, and authors on the Research4Life Group A list.
- 50 % discount — corresponding authors based in lower-middle-income countries, and authors on the Research4Life Group B list.
- Hardship waiver — any author without institutional or grant funding may apply, with a short justification, at the time of submission.
- Student first authors — 25 % discount on production of a letter from the supervisor.
- Editorial Board members and reviewers — a discount voucher is issued for each completed review, valid for 12 months.
Waiver requests must be made at submission via the cover letter or editor@somatopub.com; they are decided by the editorial office, not the handling editor, and are never disclosed to editors or reviewers. Waiver status has no influence on the editorial decision. Requests made after acceptance are not normally considered.
Refunds
The APC is not refundable once production has begun. If an article is retracted for reasons attributable to the journal, the APC is refunded.
Funder compliance
Publication under CC BY 4.0 with author copyright retention complies with the open-access requirements of Plan S / cOAlition S, NIH, Wellcome, UKRI, Horizon Europe, and most other funders. Receipts are provided for reimbursement claims.
Transparency
Charges are reviewed annually and any change is announced at least 60 days in advance on this page. The charge in force on the date of submission applies.
