Plagiarism and Publication Ethics Statement

Annals of Gastroenterology and Digestive Disorders is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics, research integrity, and scientific excellence. The journal strives to publish reliable, evidence-based research that advances knowledge in gastroenterology, hepatology, digestive diseases, gastrointestinal surgery, endoscopy, nutrition, and related clinical and translational sciences. Authors, reviewers, editors, and editorial staff are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with internationally recognized ethical principles throughout the publication process.

Authors must ensure that all submitted manuscripts are original, scientifically sound, and have not been published previously or submitted simultaneously to another journal. Any text, figures, tables, data, or concepts derived from previously published work must be appropriately acknowledged through accurate citation and referencing. The journal does not accept plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, image manipulation, or any other form of academic misconduct. Manuscripts suspected of ethical violations may be rejected during editorial evaluation, and published articles may be corrected or retracted if misconduct is confirmed.

Research involving human participants must be conducted in accordance with internationally accepted ethical principles and applicable institutional or national regulations. Where required, authors should obtain approval from an appropriate Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Ethics Committee before commencing the study and confirm that informed consent was obtained from all participants or their legally authorized representatives. Patient privacy and confidentiality must be protected, and identifying information should only be included with explicit written consent.

Studies involving animals must comply with recognized ethical guidelines for the care and use of laboratory animals. Authors should provide details of the relevant ethical approval and describe the measures taken to ensure humane treatment throughout the research.

The journal requires authors to disclose all sources of funding, financial support, and any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the design, conduct, interpretation, or reporting of the research. Individual author contributions should be clearly described to ensure accountability and transparency. Authors are encouraged to retain original research data and, where appropriate, make supporting data available to facilitate verification and reproducibility.

Editors are responsible for ensuring a fair, impartial, confidential, and timely editorial process. Manuscripts are evaluated solely on their scientific merit, originality, methodological quality, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal's scope. Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and confidential assessments while declaring any conflicts of interest that could affect their independent evaluation.

If concerns regarding publication ethics arise before or after publication, the journal will investigate them thoroughly and impartially. When necessary, appropriate editorial actions—including corrections, expressions of concern, or article retractions—will be implemented to preserve the integrity and accuracy of the scientific record.
