Plagiarism and Publication Ethics Statement

The International Journal of Orthopedic is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics, research integrity, and scientific excellence. The journal provides a platform for publishing high-quality research in orthopedics, trauma, musculoskeletal medicine, joint reconstruction, sports injuries, spine disorders, pediatric orthopedics, orthopedic oncology, rehabilitation, and related clinical and translational sciences. Authors, reviewers, editors, and editorial staff are expected to uphold internationally recognized principles of ethical publishing throughout the submission, peer-review, and publication process.

Authors must ensure that all submitted manuscripts are original, scientifically accurate, and not under consideration by another journal. All text, data, figures, tables, images, and ideas obtained from previously published work must be appropriately acknowledged through accurate citation and referencing. The journal strictly prohibits plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, inappropriate image manipulation, and any other form of research or publication misconduct. Manuscripts suspected of violating these ethical standards may be rejected during editorial assessment or, if published, may be corrected, retracted, or otherwise addressed following a thorough investigation.

Research involving human participants must be conducted in accordance with internationally accepted ethical principles and applicable institutional and national regulations. Where required, authors must obtain approval from an appropriate Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Ethics Committee before commencing the study and confirm that informed consent has been obtained from all participants or their legally authorized representatives. Patient privacy and confidentiality must be safeguarded at all times, and any identifiable information or clinical images should only be published with explicit written consent.

Studies involving animals must comply with recognized ethical standards governing the care and humane use of laboratory animals. Authors should provide details of the relevant ethical approvals and describe the measures implemented to ensure animal welfare throughout the study.

The journal requires complete disclosure of all funding sources, financial support, and any actual or potential conflicts of interest that could influence the design, conduct, interpretation, or reporting of the research. Individual author contributions should be clearly described to promote transparency and accountability. Authors are encouraged to retain original research data and, where appropriate, make supporting datasets available to facilitate verification, reproducibility, and future scientific investigation.

Editors are responsible for ensuring a fair, impartial, confidential, and timely editorial process. Manuscripts are evaluated solely on the basis of scientific merit, originality, methodological quality, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal's scope. Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and confidential assessments while declaring any conflicts of interest that could affect their independent evaluation.

If concerns regarding publication ethics arise before or after publication, the journal will investigate them promptly, fairly, and confidentially. Where necessary, appropriate editorial actions—including corrections, expressions of concern, or article retractions—will be implemented to preserve the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of the published scientific record.

The International Journal of Orthopedic is dedicated to fostering ethical scientific publishing and supporting innovative, evidence-based research that advances the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and long-term management of musculoskeletal disorders, ultimately improving patient outcomes and orthopedic practice worldwide.
