Preprint Policy
Annals of Infectious Diseases and Therapy supports the early sharing of research.
- Authors may post a preprint of their manuscript on a recognised preprint server (e.g. medRxiv, bioRxiv, SSRN, Research Square, arXiv, OSF Preprints, AfricArXiv) before or during submission. This is not considered prior publication and does not affect consideration.
- State the preprint server and DOI in the cover letter and in the manuscript's Declarations.
- Authors may update the preprint with revised versions during review, but should not post the accepted manuscript as a preprint update; instead, add a link to the published version of record once available.
- Preprints posted on personal or institutional websites, or presented as conference abstracts or posters, are treated the same way.
- The journal will add a link from the published article to the preprint where the preprint DOI is provided.
- A manuscript that has been posted as a preprint and rejected by the journal remains the authors' property; the journal makes no claim on it.
Authors are reminded that a preprint is not peer reviewed and should not be reported to the media as if it were.
